Newsletter: Digital Signage Solutions

Digital signage is a new way to get your message out to your potential customers. This device provides a vibrant slide show of advertisements that can be presented almost anywhere and for any purpose. The sign will accept most images and rotates through them from a fraction of a second to hours for each slide. Slides may be presented in landscape or portrait orientations. Slides may also be retrieved from a web site. This allows you to put up an advertisement then maybe show the weather forecast or a page from your corporate web site. Stereo sound may be added to help reinforce your message and to get the viewers attention.

The Digi-Sign has endless possibilities. It can be used anywhere you would place a regular sign but with the advantages of dynamic messages, adding sound and allowing quick changes. Imagine creating a special for your store and having it show up instantly on the sign, no need to wait for printing. Some examples are:

  • In a restaurant you can have the specials change during the day, show the menu and put up special events messages. Display some different drinks or your most popular entries. You can even sell advertisement space to beer and liquor companies.
  • In a mall setting it could be used by the entrance to sell advertising on for stores, to promote a new store and to show special events and sales.
  • For a hardware store you can show your specials for the week. Suggest other products to buy, for example in the paint areas have slides that reminds you to get tape, brushes, rollers, drop clothes etc. You can even put a verbal message here such as "Painting today? Don't forget the tape…." or sell advertising on to promote a manufacture's special or new product
  • A grocery store can sell advertising on it and promote weekly specials
  • A car dealership can have it rotate through features of a particular car. The sign can be purchased with a 10" screen on a stand so that it could be place on the hood of the car.
  • A conference centre can use it to show directions to rooms, maps or conferences that are coming up.
  • Hospitals for directions to special clinics or presentations.
  • Real estate offices can use it to show views through a house or commercial property

A computer is required to put together the slide show and upload (move images from the computer to the sign) images to the Digi-Sign but is not required once the images are on the sign. The sign includes an easy to use content creation program that allows you to drag pictures in, change the fill in background, set a web address, add sound, add text and change the transitions. Since the sign is all solid state and has no operating system it will run without crashing. Uploading is carried out by a USB port (a common connection on most computers) or by a wireless network. The sign comes with a 10" screen but can be purchased without the screen, regardless on the back of the sign is a VGA port which will allow you to connect any item with this type of port which includes plasma screens, LCD displays and projectors. There are stereo outputs so that you can add additional speakers for large areas or to connect to the ones with the flat screen. An all-round useful addition to your advertising campaign.
